Ukrzaliznytsia has updated safety rules during air raids.
From now on, in the event of an alarm, trains can stop and completely evacuate passengers.
Passenger reminder:
- keep your documents and phone nearby in advance;
- after the conductor's signal, listen carefully to the instructions;
- in the event of evacuation, exit calmly, without panic or crowding;
- suitcases and large items must be left in the car;
- after exiting, immediately go to a shelter or move to a safe distance from the train;
- you can return to the car only after the official signal to end the alarm.
Consultation on any issues
In the event of an evacuation, do not crowd around the train, as it may remain a potential target. You will only be able to return to the train after the official alarm has been sounded.
If you are planning a train trip in the near future, it is better to familiarize yourself with these rules in advance.
Readiness
After receiving a signal from the conductor about increased danger:
- immediately prepare for evacuation: get dressed, put your documents and phone nearby;
- stay in place until instructed by the conductor;
- if you or your child need help getting out of the car, notify the conductor in advance;
Evacuation
After the train has stopped safely, if the conductor gives the evacuation signal:
- without creating a crowd or panic, leave the car through the nearest exit;
- leave suitcases and bulky items in their places;
- help passengers who need it;
- do not jump, step or stand on the tracks.
After leaving the car
- quickly go to the shelter (you will not be forgotten there when the train departs) or to a safe distance from the car;
- do not crowd directly near the train - it may be a target;
- disperse, but keep the conductor in a signal vest in sight;
- in the event of an explosion nearby - lie on the ground face down, keep your mouth open, cover your head with improvised objects;
- carefully listen to the instructions of the conductors or station officials.
Returning to the car
- wait for instructions — voice, megaphone or whistle — that the danger has ended;
- if you need to cross the tracks to return to the car, do so carefully and watch out for oncoming trains.
