Border crossing points from Ukraine to Moldova have decided not to operate during air raid alerts.

Important for tourists traveling via Chisinau: possible border delays during air raid alerts!

We would like to draw the attention of tourists planning a trip to Moldova or a flight from Chisinau International Airport. Due to increased security risks and Russian attacks on border infrastructure, the operation of certain checkpoints on the Ukrainian-Moldovan border may be temporarily suspended during an air threat.



In particular, after the recent attack on the «Starokozache — Tudora» checkpoint, the Ukrainian side reported that during an air raid alert, border crossing operations on this route are suspended.

Such restrictions may affect border crossing times: after the alert ends and the checkpoint resumes operations, cars and buses may accumulate, which can increase waiting times.

At the same time, it is important to note that this does not mean the automatic closure of the entire Ukrainian-Moldovan border during every air raid alert. The decision to temporarily suspend border crossing operations depends on the security situation and the level of threat for a specific section of the border.

If your cruise or other trip involves a flight from Chisinau, we recommend taking possible unexpected delays into account at the route planning stage.
Leave Ukraine with a significant time reserve. Even a short suspension of checkpoint operations may later lead to queues.
For morning and daytime flights, as well as in cases where missing the flight would be critical, we recommend arriving in Chisinau the day before departure whenever possible and staying overnight in the city.
