Modern Düsseldorf is filled with offices and banks, making it a commercial and industrial center. But, fortunately, the city has preserved its historic buildings on the left bank of the Rhine.

In 1469, Desiderius, better known as Erasmus of Rotterdam, was born here. At the intersection of Blaak and Kolsingel streets, there is a statue of the great humanist in a pensive pose.

The largest trading city in the Netherlands, Amsterdam, was founded in 1275 and owes its name to the dam that once protected the area from floods (the “dam on the Amstel River”). This world-famous city can boast many attractions.

Among them are the central Damrak street, Dam Square and Leidseplein, the Royal Palace, the famous churches of Nieuwekerk and Westerkerk. The city also has many museums that will certainly interest guests: the Van Gogh Museum, museums of modern art and wax figures, the Anne Frank House Museum and even the Sex Museum. Walking through Amsterdam, you can see the Maghere-Brugge bridge, the Montelbanstoren tower and many other interesting places.
