Ready for its debut: the new cruise ship Legend of the Seas is on its way to its maiden voyage in the Mediterranean Sea

According to Spanish media reports, the new cruise ship Legend of the Seas by Royal Caribbean is expected to enter dry dock in Cadiz before its maiden voyage.

The LNG-powered vessel was recently delivered to its owner by the Meyer Turku shipyard. It is scheduled to welcome its first guests in the Italian port of Civitavecchia on July 4, 2026.

According to Diario de Cadiz, Legend is expected to arrive at the Navantia shipyard on June 22, 2026. According to available information, the 250,800-ton vessel will enter Dock No. 4 (Dique 4) for final adjustments over a five-day period.

The local news source noted that Navantia employees will work on landscaping the gardens and green areas of Central Park aboard Legend. At the end of 2023, the Spanish shipyard planted more than 10,000 live plants aboard Icon of the Seas. The dry dock stay will also include other technical work, various inspections and provisioning, adds Diario de Cadiz.
