Mercedes-Maybach will build the 155-meter superyacht Beyond Horizons for the exclusive Ocean Club!

Mercedes-Maybach has selected Lloyd Werft shipyard to build the superyacht Beyond Horizons, already being called the “floating S-Class for billionaires.”

The Mercedes-Maybach brand has taken another step toward realizing its ambitious Maybach Ocean Club project by selecting the German shipyard Lloyd Werft Bremerhaven to construct the superyacht Beyond Horizons. The vessel is set to become the centerpiece of an exclusive next-generation private club, scheduled to launch in 2030.

The parties signed a preliminary agreement at the Mercedes-Benz Center of Excellence. The project envisions the creation of a private community of owners, for whom the yacht will serve not only as a leisure destination but also as a venue for networking, travel, and cultural events.

According to Lloyd Werft Managing Director Thorsten Rönner, the concept opens new opportunities for the luxury yachting market and the attraction of new customer segments.

“We see significant potential in this concept. For Lloyd Werft, it is an opportunity to deliver a project that combines innovative ideas, top-level engineering, and decades of shipbuilding expertise,” said Rönner.

An important factor in the project is the ownership structure of the shipyard. Among Lloyd Werft's shareholders is Lürssen, one of the world's most renowned megayacht builders, with extensive experience in constructing some of the most sophisticated and luxurious vessels ever built.

The Beyond Horizons concept was first unveiled in 2025. It was developed in collaboration with Splendid Sea, Dölker + Voges Design Studio, and Mercedes-Benz Design. At the time, the organizers announced plans to attract 300 co-owners, each of whom would be entitled to spend up to four weeks per year on board.

The future superyacht will be approximately 155 meters long and will accommodate up to 72 guests at a time. Club members will enjoy 30 spacious Residential Suites, each measuring around 74 square meters. All suites will feature private balconies and panoramic ocean views. In addition, six extra cabins will be available for owners' family members and guests.

The project includes a wide range of premium leisure and entertainment facilities:
• panoramic ocean-view lounges;
• restaurants and signature culinary concepts;
• a modern wellness and spa complex;
• a Beach Club with direct water access;
• a two-level infinity pool;
• spacious sun decks;
• cultural programs, live music performances, and art exhibitions.

Another unique feature of the concept will be a dedicated support vessel, responsible for transporting helicopters, tenders, water sports equipment, and handling various logistical operations.

With this project, Mercedes-Maybach aims to create not just a luxury yacht, but an entirely new maritime lifestyle concept that combines a private club, exclusive travel experiences, and the atmosphere of a like-minded community.
