Royal Caribbean to open beach club in Santorini!

Royal Caribbean Group has announced the creation of a new private resort on the island of Santorini.

The company noted that it continues to strategically invest in expanding its unparalleled collection of destinations and experiences, “deepening its competitive advantage, strengthening the leisure ecosystem and creating new ways to deliver extraordinary travel experiences that resonate with guests.”

The company has announced plans to create the ultimate day out on Santorini. Royal Beach Club Santorini is scheduled to open in summer 2026 and will welcome cruise ship guests Royal Caribbean and Celebrity Cruises.

“Expanding our Royal Beach Club collection to include Santorini — one of the world's most popular and beautiful destinations — is a bold step forward in growing our portfolio from two to eight destinations by 2028. This will give our guests more opportunities to have unforgettable experiences with us,” said Jason Liberty, President and CEO of Royal Caribbean Group.

“We are thrilled to be able to introduce guests to the gems of Santorini — from its iconic villages to the Aegean's famous beach club culture — creating a balanced, authentic island experience.”

“Santorini is an incredible destination that our guests love to explore, and with this new beach club we will be able to showcase the best the island has to offer, with the signature service that Royal Caribbean is known for,” added Michael Bailey, President and CEO of Royal Caribbean.

The company said the beach club will be part of the Ultimate Santorini Day concept, which will explore the island's highlights, from the whitewashed buildings and blue-domed churches of Oia to the shops, cafes and art galleries of Fira. Vacationers will be able to fulfill their “checklist dreams” while enjoying the Mediterranean atmosphere of the beach club.

Royal Beach Club Santorini project details:
- The beach club will be located in the Vlychada area on the south coast of Santorini.
- There will be no large-scale construction - the club will be created on the basis of an existing beach area, which will be updated and reconstructed using environmental protocols and in accordance with local regulations.
- One of the important aspects is managing the tourist load on the island. To reduce the concentration of people in one area, trips to the club will include a starting point from a choice of three locations: Oia, Fira or the beach club itself.
After the club opens, access to it will be available to:
- Royal Caribbean and Celebrity Cruises guests
- Greek residents, subject to availability (i.e. the club will also be open to local residents if there are offers)
- There will be no age restrictions - children will also be able to use the club.
What will the “Ultimate Santorini Day” include (full day in Santorini):
- Excursion along the coast of the island with scenic views (boat trip);
- Stops in Oia (white houses, blue domes) and Fira (shops, cafes, galleries);
- Relaxation on the volcanic black sand beach, with umbrellas, sun loungers, free meals, Wi-Fi, etc.

As the first Royal Beach Club prepares to open in the Bahamas this December, Royal Beach Club Santorini will be the newest addition to a growing collection of exclusive onshore locations, including the highly acclaimed Perfect Day at CocoCay resort.

According to the announcement, the company plans to increase the number of its ground destinations from two to eight by 2028.
