About Seabourn Cruises
Seabourn Cruise Line is a leading operator of ultra-luxury ocean and expedition cruises, founded in 1986. The company is headquartered in Seattle, USA. Seabourn is part of Carnival Corporation & plc and is deservedly considered one of the standards of premium water recreation.
The main feature of Seabourn is a fleet of small, elegant ships, designed for an average of 250-600 guests, which provides the atmosphere of a private yacht and the most personalized service. The all-inclusive format includes exquisite gastronomy, premium drinks, service without tipping and many exclusive events on board and ashore.
The Seabourn fleet consists of modern liners – Seabourn Encore (2016), Ovation (2018), as well as Odyssey-class – Seabourn Odyssey, Sojourn, Quest. It is complemented by two innovative expedition ships – Seabourn Venture (2022) and Seabourn Pursuit (2023), designed for cruising in the most remote corners of the planet, including the Arctic and Antarctica.
The role of Four Gates Group: as your trusted tour operator, we provide expert advice on Seabourn cruises – from choosing an itinerary and vessel to visa support and current special offers. Our specialists will help you take advantage of all the benefits, including loyalty programs, promotions and customized options.
History of company
Seabourn Cruise Line is a relatively young, but already legendary brand in the world of luxury cruises. The company was founded in 1986 by Norwegian entrepreneurs Ivar Hanson and Atle Braig under the name Signet Cruise Line, but was soon renamed Seabourn Cruise Line.
In 1988, the first liner, Seabourn Pride, was launched, followed by Seabourn Spirit (1989) and Seabourn Legend (1991). These ships set the Seabourn signature standard: a small number of passengers, spacious suites, five-star hotel service and a private yacht atmosphere.
In 1991, the company merged with Cunard Line, which gave impetus to the expansion of the fleet and strengthening of its reputation in the international arena. Since 1998, Seabourn has become part of the cruise giant Carnival Corporation & plc, gaining access to investments and resources for a large-scale update.
In 2009-2011, a new class of ships was built – Odyssey Class, including Seabourn Odyssey, Sojourn and Quest. In 2016 and 2018, the fleet was replenished with ships Encore and Ovation, and in 2022-2023 – the first in the company’s history specialized expedition ships Venture and Pursuit, equipped with ice class and modern research equipment.
Today, Seabourn continues to develop routes on all seven continents, offering both classic sea cruises and unique expedition voyages to the most remote corners of the planet.
