The world's largest cruise sailing liner, 220 meters long and weighing over 26,000 tons, was launched in France. The vessel, named Orient Express Corinthian, is the result of a collaboration between the legendary passenger rail service Orient Express and the French hotel group Accor.
Built by Chantiers de l'Atlantique, the vessel is equipped with a propulsion system unique for a cruise ship of her size, capable of running solely on wind power in favourable conditions. Should additional power be required, a hybrid system using liquefied natural gas (LNG) provides backup propulsion.
