About Norwegian Cruise Line
Norwegian Cruise Line (NCL) is one of the world’s leading cruise companies with its headquarters in Miami and European offices in London and Wiesbaden. In Ukraine, NCL’s official partner is our company Four Gates Group, which provides full support when booking cruises, helps with the choice of route, cabin, transfer and ensures a high level of service.
Norwegian Cruise Line is known for its innovative Freestyle Cruising concept – a free cruise format without fixed meal times, strict dress code and maximum freedom of choice. Dozens of restaurants, world-class entertainment, swimming pools, spa areas, children’s clubs and shows from Cirque Dreams & Dinner, Broadway and Nickelodeon are available on board the liners.
The company’s fleet consists of 19 modern ships, and in March 2025, the new liner Norwegian Aqua joined it. Popular destinations include Europe, the Caribbean, Alaska, Asia, Hawaii and round-the-world cruises. Winner of multiple World Travel Awards, the company offers comfortable holidays for all ages and preferences.
Thanks to its partnership with Four Gates Group, traveling with Norwegian Cruise Line is simple, affordable and exciting.
History of Norwegian Cruise Line
Norwegian Cruise Line (NCL) was founded in 1966 by Norwegian businessmen Knut Kloster and Ted Arison. The company was originally called Norwegian Caribbean Line, offering cruises between Miami and the Caribbean on the small ship Sunward.
In the 1970s, NCL revolutionized the cruise industry by pioneering the concept of an "open" cruise schedule, allowing guests to choose their itinerary and length of stay. The company continued to innovate in the 1980s, acquiring the legendary SS France and renaming it Norway, making it the largest cruise ship of its time.
In the 2000s, NCL launched the concept of Freestyle Cruising, doing away with the fixed dining schedules and strict dress codes that have become its hallmark. In the 2010s, the company introduced new Breakaway and Breakaway Plus classes of ships, such as Norwegian Escape and Norwegian Encore, offering guests even more entertainment, dining, and modern technology on board.
Today, NCL is part of Norwegian Cruise Line Holdings and continues to develop the cruise industry by creating new ships, such as Norwegian Prima and Norwegian Viva, focused on modern vacation trends.
Awards and Charity
Norwegian Cruise Line regularly receives awards for its innovation and service excellence. Key awards include:
• “Best Cruise Operator in North America” by the World Travel Awards;
• “Best Premium Cruise Line” by Travel Weekly;
• “Best Cruise Operator in the Caribbean” for several years running;
• “Best Solo Cruise Operator” for its specially designed cabins and activities for solo travelers;
• “Best Onboard Entertainment” for its Broadway shows, innovative rides and water slides.
The company is also actively involved in charity work. One of its largest initiatives is the “Hope Starts Here” program, aimed at supporting victims of natural disasters. In addition, NCL partners with charities such as the Make-A-Wish Foundation, helping to make dreams come true for children with serious illnesses.

EVENTS, SERVICES AND SERVICE
Choose from sports or computer activities, go to wine tasting, cooking shows or Karaoke, play Bingo or try your hand at sports competitions - everyone will find something to do. If you are looking for peace and privacy, you will certainly find it on board NCL ships. The Mandara Spa offers a wide range of different soothing and restorative treatments. Or just sit back on a sun lounger and take a sunbath. In addition to the Mandara Spa, you can also take advantage of the beauty salon. On most ships, the cost of the services offered in the Spa and Beauty Salon is not included in the cruise price.
The Fitness Center is open 24 hours a day. Fitness, yoga, Pilates, stretch, aerobics and step classes are offered. Please note that some classes are available for an additional fee. You can also exercise outdoors on the treadmill or on the basketball/volleyball court. Some ships have a tennis court. On each ship, you will find a large selection of duty-free shops, where you can save on alcoholic beverages, tobacco products, perfumes and cosmetics. In the shops, you can also buy swimwear and clothing, and discounts are offered on jewelry and watches.
During cruises around the Hawaiian Islands, in accordance with the laws of the region, the Casino is closed. If you are new to the Casino, take our free training. Remember that filming or taking photos is prohibited in the Casino.
If you are a true connoisseur of art and like to attend auctions, you will enjoy the auctions produced and art. During each cruise you have a great opportunity to purchase original works at a discount of up to 80% of the usual price, and during the cruise there are hundreds of works worth several thousand dollars in raffles. All purchased or won works will be packed and delivered to your home by mail. During the cruise there are two or three art auctions.
A cruise is a great opportunity to read a good book and the best place for this activity is the library. Naturally, you can “rent” books. Moreover, newspapers in various languages are sold on board.
A professional photographer works on board of each liner, who can capture the entire cruise and preserve it in memory with excellent photos, be it an adventure in a port of call, a special event during the cruise or photos with the ship’s captain and the work crew. Isn’t it nice to go home with a suitcase full of clean clothes? This is possible thanks to the laundry service that operates on board. The staff will take all the necessary things and take them to the laundry.
RESTAURANTS
Freestyle cruising gives you the freedom to eat where and when you like. Sleep in until 12:00 and order breakfast in your cabin, or skip breakfast and order a burger by the pool. That’s the great thing about Freestyle cruising – you can live according to your own schedule. With traditional and alternative restaurants, you can try a new cuisine every night. And with a flexible schedule, you can always find a restaurant to suit your mood, taste or outfit. On board, you’ll also find one of the best buffets at sea, with a large bar with salads and hot dishes to order. Special dishes are available: children’s menu, barbecue, low-calorie dishes, vegetarian dishes and low-calorie desserts. On almost all ships, your children will have their own dining area with their favorite dishes. The exact opening hours of all food outlets are indicated in the daily program. As a rule, restaurants open for dinner at 17:30 and are open until 22:30. We recommend making reservations in advance for the most popular restaurants, as reservations are accepted 24 hours a day. You do not need to make a reservation to dine in the main restaurant, but you may have to wait a little to be seated. On board the ships, there are screens at the entrance to the restaurants and in public areas, which indicate the number of available tables in all restaurants.
24-hour room service is offered completely free of charge. However, you will have to pay for dinner in alternative restaurants, the cost of dinner per person varies from $ 10 to $ 20. Cold water, tea and coffee are served free of charge during dinner. Juice is also included in the price of the cruise for breakfast. The cost of other drinks will be added to your onboard bill.
If you are a wine connoisseur, you will definitely enjoy the special wine program. We offer hand-selected varieties of wine from around the world. Ask your waiter for a special wine list, and you will surely choose a wine that will perfectly match any dish or event. You can order wine in any restaurant. If you want to learn more about wine, we offer lectures and wine tastings.
Please remember that smoking is prohibited in the restaurants on board NCL ships.
BARS, LIVING AREAS, THEATRE
With a variety of bars and lounges on board, open until late at night, you can be sure that every evening will be unforgettable. Whether you are looking for a quiet place or want to dance on the dance floor, you will find the perfect place for any mood! Be sure to check out the new, cutting-edge theme parties. The theaters on board the ship host a variety of entertainment programs from Broadway shows, Las Vegas shows, magic shows and comedy.
DRESS CODE
Dress code on board NCL ships is neither too formal nor too casual. We call it smart casual. During the day you can wear whatever you want: trousers, skirt, jeans, T-shirt, shorts, etc. Even if you just relaxed by the pool and did not have time to change… no problem. A bathing suit with a pareo or a sundress is an acceptable look for visiting the buffet and open-air restaurant. When night falls, the relaxed feel is felt in everything. During dinner, men should wear a shirt with trousers or jeans. Women usually wear a dress or a skirt with a blouse. If you want to dress up and add a little luxury to your evening, do not worry, we have a special table prepared for such an occasion. Access to the restaurant in bathing suits, T-shirts and shorts is prohibited after 17:30.
Warm climates call for lightweight, breathable clothing. For cool climates, we recommend layering, as well as a raincoat, umbrella, and gloves. Don’t forget to bring sportswear and sneakers for the fitness center. Comfortable clothing and shoes are preferable during excursions. When visiting some attractions, you will need appropriate clothing. For example, you may not be allowed into the church in open tops or shorts.
KIDS PROGRAM
The cruise is ideal for a family vacation, and the Freestyle Cruise makes it even more attractive for families. Sometimes children want to take a break from their parents and do their own thing. Guests with reduced mobility, disabilities or medical conditions
We welcome guests with special needs. Information provided before booking (on our website, in brochures or elsewhere) includes general information about the accessibility of the cruise for people with reduced mobility. However, the degree of reduced mobility may vary and we understand that everyone’s needs are different. If you have a medical condition, disability or other condition that may affect your cruise, please let us know before booking. This will enable us to provide accurate information about your cruise’s suitability for your requirements.
Guests with severe mobility limitations must travel with an accompanying person who will take responsibility for any necessary assistance during the cruise and in case of emergency. Any assistance provided by Norwegian Cruise Line, its employees or service partners is not included in the contractual services, unless otherwise agreed in writing or provided by law (e.g. EU Regulations 1107/2006 and 1177/2010 on the rights of passengers with disabilities).

Any physical or medical conditions requiring special attention must be declared at the time of booking. In some cases, medical certificates and liability waivers may be required.
