From September 1, 2025, Latvia has introduced mandatory online registration for citizens of many countries (except the EU, NATO, OECD, Switzerland, Brazil), including Ukrainians, on the website eta.gov.lv no less than 48 hours before entry.

According to the Immigration Law, a person who fails to fulfill the obligation to provide information necessary to prevent threats to national security, or provides incomplete or false information, may be fined up to 2,000 euros and be banned from entering Latvia.

The requirement applies to all types of travel, including tourism, visiting relatives, transit, only citizens who have a valid Latvian visa or residence permit in Lithuania are exempt from filling out an online declaration.

When filling out the questionnaire, it is necessary to indicate the purpose of the trip, duration of stay, route, place of residence, as well as information about service in state structures or participation in elections.

After filling out the form, a confirmation is automatically sent to your email, which is mandatory for crossing the border.
